Presentations
Since the “Danger Boy” books are time travel
stories, I show how I use history in creating the stories, and take audiences “under the hood,” where they can guess which parts of a passage are “real” or “made up” (and the answers are always surprising!) Variations include workshops on using your own family history in creating stories, and one based on my
contribution to the “White House” anthology where young writers become “future reporters,” writing about what “tomorrow's history” will be...

I also talk about how each type of writing I do–
journalism, plays, comic scripting, etc.– affects the other...

Accolades
"Mark combines his real world experience as an author with work in class that's allowed many of his students to discover and pursue their own projects. The fact that several of his students repeat his classes whenever they're offered is a testament to the engagement they feel."  Chris Takami
